Diet Season is Almost Over Otherwise Known as Summer
If you hear a sigh, its people all over America feeling relieved (especially women). The whole buildup to summer starts at New Years’. The “I gained so much weight over the holidays, how am I going to lose it!” mentality kicks in. You start seeing all the weight-loss commercials and the promise of losing as much weight you want off with little effort on your part. The yo-yo dieting begins all over again. It’s a pretty bleak picture.
Personally I don’t like the word “diet” because it conjures up the idea of restriction and being miserable. I think if people (especially women) thought more of it as a sustainable lifestyle change, a mind shift would take place and your body will naturally respond to the new change(s) in your life. It took me awhile to realize that for myself.
As summer comes to a close, we should continue our new lifestyle through the year (with a few tweaks here and there). A goal of mine is to get down to 130lbs and try to maintain my weight there. I started walking in the mornings last year and in July I started Insanity to get to my goal and tone up. I know if I want to maintain my new body, I need to continue finding new motivation, exercises and support to keep me going. I think Beachbody can help me do that which is why I joined as a coach. I want to help others who are in the same boat as me and keep being healthy for life. You can have a summer body year around!
